Your new thermostat is pre-programmed by the installer and ready to use. Just check  
the settings below and change if needed:

Fan (Auto/On): Preset to Auto.........................................To change, see page 6.  
Auto is the most commonly used setting, but you may  
prefer On for improved air circulation.

You can select heating or cooling, or set the system  
to control both systems automatically, if needed.

Select the fan setting  
Press the FAN button to select Auto or On.

In “Auto” mode (the most commonly used  
setting), the fan runs only when the heating  
or cooling system is on. If set to “On,” the  
fan runs continuously. Use this setting for  
improved air circulation, or for more efficient  
air cleaning.

Auto changeover (heat/cool)  
Auto Changeover is a feature used in climates  
where both air conditioning and heating are  
used on the same day. When the system is set  
to Auto, the thermostat automatically selects  
heating or cooling depending on the indoor  
temperature.

displays “Auto”  
Heat and cool settings must be at least 3  
degrees apart. The thermostat will automati-  
cally adjust settings to maintain this 3-degree  
separation (called “deadband”).  
The 3-degree separation between heating and  
cooling set temperatures is fixed, and cannot  
be changed.  
Note: The Auto system setting may  
not appear, depending on how your  
thermostat was installed.

Built-in compressor protection

This feature helps prevent damage to the  
compressor in your air conditioning or heat  
pump system.  
Setting  
Damage can occur if the compressor is  
restarted too soon after shutdown. This fea-  
ture forces the compressor to wait for a few  
minutes before restarting.

During the wait time, the display will flash  
the message Cool On (or Heat On if you have  
a heat pump). When the safe wait time has  
elapsed, the message stops flashing and the  
compressor turns on.

Battery replacement  
Press and pull to remove  
Batteries are optional (to provide backup  
power) if your thermostat was wired to run on  
AC power when installed.  
Replace Batttery  
Install fresh batteries immediately when the  
REPLACE BATTERY warning begins flashing. The  
warning flashes about two months before the  
batteries are depleted.  
Even if the warning does not appear, you  
should replace batteries once a year, or before  
leaving home for more than a month.  
Insert fresh alkaline batteries,  
then reinstall battery holder.  
Batteries provide backup power to the display  
during power interruptions. All settings are  
permanently stored in memory, and do not  
require battery power.  
TH5110D – AAA alkaline  
batteries.

batteries.

In case of difficulty  
If you have difficulty with your thermostat, please try the following suggestions.  
Most problems can be corrected quickly and easily.  
Display is blank  
Check circuit breaker and reset if necessary.  
Make sure power switch at heating & cooling system is on.  
Make sure furnace door is closed securely.  
If thermostat is battery-powered, make sure fresh AA or AAA alkaline  
batteries (depending on model) are correctly installed (see page 10).  
Temperature  
settings do not  
change  
Make sure heating and cooling temperatures are set to acceptable ranges:  
Heat: 40° to 90°F (4.5° to 32°C).  
Cool: 50° to 99°F (10° to 37°C).

Honeywell warrants this product, excluding battery, to be free from defects in the  
workmanship or materials, under normal use and service, for a period of five (5) years  
from the date of purchase by the consumer. If at any time during the warranty period  
the product is determined to be defective or malfunctions, Honeywell shall repair or  
replace it (at Honeywell’s option).  
If the product is defective,  
(
i) return it, with a bill of sale or other dated proof of purchase, to the place from  
which you purchased it; or  
(
ii) call Honeywell Customer Care at 1-800-468-1502. Customer Care will make the  
determination whether the product should be returned to the following address:

La substitution automatique est une

où la climatisation et le chauffage sont  
utilisés le même jour. Lorsque le système  
est réglé à Auto, le thermostat sélectionne  
automatiquement le chauffage ou la  
Auto  
climatisation selon la température intérieure.  
Appuyez jusqu’à  
ce que “Auto”  
s’affiche à l’écran.  
L’écart entre les réglages de chauffage  
et de climatisation doit être de 3 degrés.  
Le thermostat fait automatiquement les  
réglages pour maintenir cet écart de  
3
degrés (appelé la “zone morte”).  
Remarque : Le réglage de  
système Auto peut ne pas  
s’afficher, selon la manière dont  
votre thermostat a été installé.

Des dommages peuvent survenir si on  
redémarre le compresseur trop rapidement  
après une interruption. La fonction contraint  
le compresseur à attendre quelques minutes  
avant de redémarrer.

Remplacement des piles  
Saisir et tirer pour enlever  
le thermostat  
Les piles sont facultatives (pour fournir  
l’alimentation d’appoint) si votre thermostat  
est câblé à l’installation pour être alimenté  
du CA.  
Replace Batttery  
Installer des piles neuves aussitôt que  
l’avertissement REPLACE BATTERY se met  
à clignoter. L’avertissement commence  
à clignoter environ deux mois avant que  
les piles soient complètement épuisées.  
Même si l’avertissement n’apparaît pas,  
il faut remplacer les piles une fois par année,  
ou avant une absence de plus d’un mois.  
Installez des piles alcalines  
neuves et réinstallez le  
porte-piles.  
Les piles alimentent l’écran lors des pannes  
de courant. Tous les réglages sont intégrés  
de façon permanente à la mémoire, ils ne  
nécessitent pas d’alimentation par les piles.

Si le thermostat cause des ennuis, essayer l’une de ces suggestions. La plupart des  
problèmes peuvent être réglés rapidement et facilement.  
L’écran est vide  
Vérifier le disjoncteur et réinitialiser si nécessaire.  
S’assurer que l’interrupteur d’alimentation du système de chauffage  
et de climatisation est en marche.  
S’assurer que la porte du système de chauffage est bien fermée.  
Si le thermostat est alimenté par piles, s’assurer que les piles alcalines  
AA ou AAA (selon le modèle) ont été bien installées (page 10).  
Les réglages de S’assurer que le réglage des températures de chauffage et de climatisation  
la température est acceptable :  
ne changent pas  
Chauffage : 4,5 ° à 32 °C (40 ° à 90 °F)  
Climatisation : 10 ° à 37 °C (50 ° à 99 °F)

que la température réglée est inférieure à la température intérieure.  
Vérifier le disjoncteur et réinitialiser si nécessaire.  
S’assurer que l’interrupteur d’alimentation du système de chauffage  
et de climatisation est en marche.  
S’assurer que la porte du système de chauffage est bien fermée.  
Attendre 5 minutes que le système se mette en marche.  
Les mentions  
La fonction de protection du compresseur est activée. Attendre  
5 minutes que le système redémarre en toute sécurité, sans  
endommager le compresseur (page 9).

Honeywell garantit ce produit, à l’exception des piles, contre tout défaut de pièce  
ou de main-d’oeuvre, durant une période de cinq (5) ans à partir de la date d’achat  
si le produit est utilisé et entretenu convenablement. Si, à n’importe quel moment  
de la période de garantie, le produit est défectueux, Honeywell le réparera ou le  
remplacera (à sa discrétion).  
En cas de défectuosité du produit,

i) le retourner, avec le reçu d’achat ou une autre preuve d’achat datée, à l’endroit  
où il a été acheté, ou  
(

Cette garantie ne couvre pas les frais de démontage ou d’installation. La garantie  
sera annulée si Honeywell prouve que la défectuosité a été causée par des  
dommages apparus alors que le client était en possession du produit.  
La responsabilité d’Honeywell se limite à la réparation ou au remplacement du produit
